No. 45 - Vitivinicola Fangareggi Vigna Rosa, ACG at Hanon, Mountain
Sparkling chilled red, ACG on sale, a new restaurant from the Brat team...
This week’s post is a quick one as work and life has caught up with me somewhat. First up is a bottle of sparkling red Lambrusco, which I picked up from Shop Cuvée for a hot evening’s picnic fun. I was hoping for something similar to the Camillo Donati Ribelle Rosato I tried back in January. While this was tasty, I found it a bit one dimensional and with less character than the rosato. Still a very thirst quenching wine for a summer eve, but a little Ribena-y in character and lacking much else to make it really memorable, which was a shame.
Hanon’s ACG Sale
For Nike ACG fans, Hanon are running a 50% off sale on their site. Lots of sizes seem to be available and there’s a lot of nice bits and pieces for both men and women. I imagine stock won’t last too long though!
Mountain by Tomos Parry
There’s a new restaurant on Beak Street by Tomos Parry, of Brat fame. I’ve not been to the main Brat, but the branch at Climpson’s Arch is excellent, and I imagine this will be too. Hot Dinners have a good article on what to expect. Here’s a taster:
“It's being described as a wood grill and wine bar, which they say reflects "Tomos' favourite meals from journeys across Spain over recent years". That will be paired with his local sourcing from fishermen and farmers in Wales and Cornwall, echoing what he does with Brat.
For snacks, there will be two types of sobrasada made specifically for the restaurant in Mallorca, alongside raw Carmarthen prawns, wild asparagus and braised peas with cockles.”
Sounds great to me, definitely on the list to try. Maybe in the autumn once the initial hype wave dies down - I imagine getting a table in the first two months after opening on 11th July will be a scrum.
